We enjoyed worshipping the Lord with the the good people of the Mission Bible Church in Seeley Montana last week on vacation, but it’s good to be back home.
The morning blew by. Pastor Mark flew in late Saturday night, so I had the sermon duties for both services today. I also lead an adult class and music at worship for the second service.
The first service provided a delightful opportunity to see some of the folks I don’t see very much.
The second service was packed which made for a great time of worship in singing because we have a singing congregation! It was a treat and a blessing to see so many actively engaged as we sang praises to God together. From the team side of things: Dawn and Laurie were tight on vocals with some well chosen harmonies, Aaron’s electric guitar parts fit nicely (as usual), Jody’s bass playing continues to improve, and Brad did his typical great job on the drums. What it means to me is leading is a pleasure, a joy, and a lot of fun. Everyone’s great sense of humor is a real plus.
Practice proved to be a good time to get it together; I am indebted Brad and Brian for addressing the tempo issues on several of the songs that were slowing down or not fast enough to begin with; we got it squared away and I jotted down my class “Don’t drag!” notes on the appropriate sheets. Brian’s feedback from the sanctuary was that the mix was really good; Brian’s not easy to please, so that means Greg and Rob really have it down. Great job guys.
