One of the highlights this morning was Brian’s unplanned coming up to the platform in the middle of Spirit and sitting at the drums and joining in. I didn’t realize he was even present. (Sometimes as the leader you just have to relax, go with the flow, and trust the team. Thanks Greg for unmuting the electric drums and putting them in the mix!) I figured that Brian and Brad would switch bass and drums for the next song. Brad had mentioned Thursday at practice he really liked play drums on I Cannot Ignore and liked Brian’s bass part. Sure enough that’s what they did, and we were good to go for the rest of the set. It was a driving, powerful finish to a rich service. Word-centered preaching and passionate congregational singing made for a meaningful time worshipping the Lord.
