We had a change of pace on the music side this morning, an acoustic set with an acoustic guitar and an acoustic bass (El Capitan). It gave me a chance to string several songs together (Wonderful Maker and Revelation Song, O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus and I Feel the Winds of God Today) which is something we don’t do when we have the drums. The team played and sang well today and we had our normal outstanding congregation engagement. We are spoiled; praise the Lord!!!
Mark’s outstanding sermon on grief left us in a reflective mood. As he so aptly stated “grief is the price we pay for love.”
When we went up for the second set of songs; Brad was pointing to O the Deep, Deep leadsheet suggesting a change of order, and I shook my head. I opted to stick with the plan, but I slowed the tempo Holy Spirit of Glory down some from the peppier pace we were playing at in practice so it wouldn’t drag, but this morning the slower tempo was just what was needed. It was an encouraging morning. Here is the whole song list:
