Christ is risen! He’s risen indeed!
We celebrated Easter with a combined service at the High School. Brad lead and did a great job. He ended up singing by himself; unfortunately, a sick son keep his wife home. Other conflicts took out the two scheduled vocalists. The whole team played and sang well together. Greg and Clint did a great job of taking care of the sound and audiovisual. The set up went well; the break down even better as men (and young men!) helped us pack it up.
One on the high points in the service was our introduction of “The Wonderful Cross.” It’s a very effective arrangement of a classic hymn that maintains the essence of the original and adds some contemporary flavor. Brad’s daughter, Julia (a 3rd grader), made her first appearance on the worship team at the keyboard and did a superb job of adding extra color to the song. I am always encouraged when our youth are a part of what we are doing. Way to go Julia!!! It was great morning for all the generations to worship the Lord together!
One question the pastor asked, “Did you see Jesus this week?” still has me thinking. Questions it raised in my mind are “was I looking for Him?” and “did I expect to see Him?”
