We took advantage of the combined service of the middle school last week to have a baptismal install underneath the platform we use for the worship team. Saturday we put everything back together and tried a different arrangement with the music stands and monitors. We are trying to reduce the volume levels on the platform to allow the sound techs to more effectively mix the house.
I thought things went well this morning with the lower monitor levels; everyone played and sang well and we had good congregational response. The set was more on the mellow side. Praise Him, Alleluia and Spirit allow me to lead with pattern picking and the rest of the team fills in around it. With the volume of the instruments down, the vocals really stand out drawing attention to the wonderful lyrics from Hymns of the Russian Church. Here are the songs we did:
