Sunday Set List #1: 4/5/09

Medical Lake Community Church
I put in our Hosanna songs for Palm Sunday. Almost used one of the Hosanna passages for the scripture reading, but this morning I read in my quiet time in Mark where Jesus calmed the storm, so I included it since it connects nicely with the song Who Is This? Turned out to be a good decision since Pastor Mark ended up preaching from and reading the triumphal entry from Luke. Our song following the sermon really connected well so I changed the roadmap to eliminate an earlier repeat and repeat the break with the chorus an extra time to emphasize the “You are my King” part. This reinforced the pastor’s challenge in the sermon to evaluate whether Jesus is our King in our lives, overall a good service.

Pine Lodge Corrections Center for Women
Since the Pine Lodge Chaplain is deployed with the Air Force for a few months, I cover the sermons or the service is not done. The Department of Corrections cancelled the March 15 evening service since there was no power in the Chapel and throughout most of the site. I went ahead used the songs and sermon I planned for that service. The sermon on the 1st Passover ended up being very timely. It is always a delight to go out to Pine Lodge; the ladies actively engage in all aspects of the service and tonight was no exception. Sometimes I wonder who gets more out of the service.

Who is this is one of my favorite songs! :)

"Jesus paid it all" is such a great hymn! I'm loving the Stanfill version.
